1. Registration & Refunds

• No "Roll-Forwards": Registration is for the specific dates of the series purchased. We do not offer "roll-forward" credits to future months if a student misses a class.

• Cancellation Window: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the first class of a series to be eligible for a refund (minus processing fees).

• Role Balancing: To ensure the best learning environment, we reserve the right to manage registration based on Lead/Follow ratios.

2. Our Community Culture

West Slope Westies is dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive home for the movement arts. We believe dance is for everyone:

• Inclusive Roles: Dance roles (Lead and Follow) are not tied to gender. We encourage dancers to avoid assumptions and check in with partners about their preferred roles.

• Floor Awareness: We ask all students to stay mindful of their surroundings to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable on the dance floor.

3. Safe Space & Harassment Policy

We value your safety above all else. To maintain our inclusive atmosphere, we ask all participants to interact with kindness and respect.

• Our Standard: We do not tolerate behavior that is discriminatory, intimidating, or harassing in nature. This includes unwelcome physical contact or offensive verbal comments.

• Our Commitment: If someone’s behavior makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please notify a staff member or board member immediately.

• Resolution: If a participant is asked to stop a specific behavior, they are expected to comply immediately. Organizers may take necessary action, including warnings or removal from the event without a refund, to protect the community.

4. Liability & Medical Release

By registering for a class or event, the participant agrees to the following:

• Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that dance is a physical activity and certify that I am physically fit for such exertion. I understand that activities take place at a high altitude (6,512 ft) and I am responsible for monitoring my own hydration and physical limits.

• Release of Liability: I agree to indemnify and release West Slope Westies, its Board of Directors, employees, and contractors from any liability, causes of action, or damages arising from participation in any session or event.

• Emergency Medical Care: I authorize West Slope Westies staff to take reasonable steps to respond to medical emergencies, including the provision of immediate first aid and obtaining professional medical assistance. I release West Slope Westies from any liability arising from medical treatment or misfortune occurring during participation.

5. Photography & Media

Attendance at West Slope Westies events constitutes consent to be photographed or filmed for use in community building, social media, and promotional materials. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let our photographer or a staff member know at the start of the event.
