West Slope Westies

West Slope Westies is dedicated to providing a safe space for the movement arts, providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all dancers and staff teaching, learning and socializing. All staff members, volunteers, and students are required to comply with the below Code of Behavior as laid out by West Slope Westies.

West Slope Westies supports the idea that dance roles (lead and follow) do not need to be tied to gender. We encourage all dancers to avoid assumptions regarding dance roles and to check in with their partners about their preferred roles. Feel free to ask anyone to dance!

Harassment Policy
No forms of harassment will be tolerated. Forms of harassment include, but are not limited to verbal, sexual, discriminatory, imagery (related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, OR religion) interference (related to staff, Board of Directors teaching and administrative duties as well students learning and experience) and failure to cease offensive/bothersome behavior when asked.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of event staff immediately.

Event staff will be happy to help participants contact the organizers, or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance and your safety.

Liability
The undersigned agrees to save harmless, indemnify and release West Slope Westies, their proprietors, employees, contractors, apprentices, heirs, assigns, and any other participants from any liability, cause of action or damages howsoever caused, including but not limited to any act, error or omission on the part of the undersigned, West Slope Westies, their proprietors, employees, contractors, heirs, assigns, or any other participants. Further, the undersigned authorizes West Slope Westies to take all reasonable steps to respond to a medical or other emergency including but not limited to the providing of immediate first aid and obtaining professional medical assistance, and the undersigned shall hold West Slope Westies and its representatives harmless and release West Slope Westies, its proprietors, employees, contractors, heirs, assigns and any other participants from any liability, cause of action or damages howsoever caused from any misfortune, malady or tragedy, physical or otherwise, that may arise due to the participation by participant in the West Slope Westies session.

I understand and consent to photography or videography at West Slope Westies events that may be used in online platforms and promotional materials.
